There are four main steps towards starting a successfull online business /presence, every step being as important as the other. If you ignore one of the steps below, you might not get 100% of your website's potential. And you certainly don't want that.
Sounds simple, right? Well, it is, in principle. The hardest steps you will have to face are planing and promoting. But more on that later. This page is dedicated to presenting general concepts of websites.
The first step, which is probably the most neglected one, is planing your website. Many people do not take enough time to think about things like the website's name, the competition, the content of the website, the costs the website implies, the time spent, and so on. Probably this is why many of them fail and give up soon.
The second step is creating your website. As you may think, yes, this is a must. Without a website, how can you monetize it, right? Here you have many choices, from CMS, Blogs, to coding from scratch. However, you must understand that one of the most important parts of your website will be the content, together with the design and feel of the site.
The third step, which is CRUCIAL, is promoting your website. This basically means increasing your site's traffic and keeping it that way. Make your website known to people surfing the internet and to the search engines as well. Many people create a website, not understanding that the most necessary part of monetizing it is the marketing part.
The fourth step is monetizing your website. If you have taken care of the three above, this step should come by itself. There are several ways to monetize your website, like advertising programs, affiliate programs, affiliate marketing, website space selling and more.
